چکیده

ABSTRACT We reanalyse the Fermi-LAT (Large Area Telescope) GeV γ-ray emission in region of supernova remnant (SNR) G51.26+0.11 and investigate its interstellar molecular environment with CO line data. At energies, based on 13.2 yr data, extended observed this is resolved into a uniform-disc source (‘Src A’) significance 19.5σ point (4FGL J1924.3+1628) 4.2σ 0.2–500 GeV. With an angular radius ∼0.17○, ‘Src A’ overlaps SNR significantly sight. On other hand, morphological coincidence between ∼+54 km s−1 clouds (MCs) together asymmetric or broad 12CO profiles near boundary provides evidence for very likely SNR–MC interaction. The interaction H i absorption features indicate that located at kinematic distance 6.2 ± 0.5 kpc. Combined results from multiwavelength analysis, can be naturally explained by hadronic model soft power-law proton spectrum index ∼2.25.

Discovery of Tev Gamma Ray Emission from Tycho’s Supernova Remnant

We report the discovery of TeV gamma-ray emission from the Type Ia supernova remnant (SNR) G120.1+1.4, known as Tycho’s supernova remnant. Observations performed in the period 20082010 with the VERITAS ground-based gamma-ray observatory reveal weak emission coming from the direction of the remnant, compatible with a point source located at 00 25 27.0, +64◦ 10′ 50′′ (J2000). The TeV photon spect...

Fermi-lat Study of Gamma-ray Emission in the Direction of Supernova Remnant W49b

We present an analysis of the gamma-ray data obtained with the Large Area Telescope (LAT) onboard the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope in the direction of SNR W49B (G43.3−0.2). A bright unresolved gammaray source detected at a significance of 38σ is found to coincide with SNR W49B. The energy spectrum in the 0.2–200 GeV range gradually steepens toward high energies. The luminosity is estimated t...

Extended GeV-TeV Emission around a Gamma-Ray Burst Remnant: The case of W49B

We consider the recent report that the supernova remnant W49B is a GammaRay Burst (GRB) remnant in our Galaxy. If this is correct, and if GRBs are sources of ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays (UHECRs), a natural consequence of this identification would be a detectable GeV-TeV photon emission around the GRB remnant. The imaging of the surrounding emission could provide new constraints on the jet stru...

Correlation of Supernova Remnant Masers and Gamma-ray Sources

Supernova remnants interacting with molecular clouds are potentially exciting systems in which to detect evidence of cosmic ray acceleration. Prominent γ-ray emission is produced via the decay of neutral pions when cosmic rays encounter the nearby dense clouds. In many of the supernova remnants coincident with γ-ray sources, the presence of OH(1720 MHz) masers is used to identify interaction wi...

Gamma-ray emission from the shell of supernova remnant W44 revealed by the Fermi LAT.

Recent observations of supernova remnants (SNRs) hint that they accelerate cosmic rays to energies close to ~10(15) electron volts. However, the nature of the particles that produce the emission remains ambiguous. We report observations of SNR W44 with the Fermi Large Area Telescope at energies between 2 x 10(8) electron volts and 3 x10(11) electron volts. The detection of a source with a morph...
